@893635you are correct the car is a 08/1983-02/1985 model...old front window mounting and old dash board and sunroof was first avaible in August 1983

HA! He said 1987 on the first one. Dashboard tells me early 1985 at the newest. I bought a '89 944 and love it. Had to replace the bent valves (not too cheap on a 1989, one year on base model only) and machine the head. Has some dents but other than that it is nice.
