With five candy colored MINI ALL4 Racing vehicles and a 96-man man team, the Monster Energy X-raid outfit turned sand to glass at Dakar Stage 1 with the mighty squad claiming 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 11th and 13th overall! Although the likelihood of a Mini win was obvious, just which car and driver it would be was up to conjecture, luck and skill it would be was suspect. However, when all was said and done, Leonid Novitskiy exploited his best driving skills to seize his first special stage win at the Dakar. The 2011 Rally Raid World Champion started 13th and took the measure of his teammates Krzysztof Holowzyc and Stéphane Peterhansel at the finish line.<br />
