Holding the races at night provided little relief from the sweltering mid-August heat at Las Vegas Speedway for Round 6 of the 2011 Formula Drift season.<br /> <br /> Need for Speed crew member Shawn Hillier describes the challenges the team faced from the oppressive heat, leading them to a complete engine swap due to some issues detected during practice.<br /> <br /> As for the main event, Need for Speed driver Fredric Aasbo arrived at the round of 16, where he faced his Need for Speed teammate Matt Powers once again. Putting it all on the line against this top competitor, Fredric nearly sent his 2011 tC into a half-spin, and he never recovered from the lost momentum.<br /> <br /> Team RS*R driver Ken Gushi went up against Conrad Grunewald in the round of 16, and after some shuffling, the judges decided Grunewald had performed an illegal pass, sending Ken to the Round of 8.
