its funny how people argue about what engine is in it ariel offers 2 different motors the 2.0 supercharged ecotec motor but ariel also offers the option of the supercharged k20z3 not the type r as who f-ing cars said look it up your self im not sure which is in this atom tho

the licensing guy for the ariel bought the rights, but then changed the engine because of the emissions, availability, and ease of its popularity with jay leno who suggested the ecotec rather than the civic type r motor. They also changed the suspension and several key factors for "cheaper" production costs. I think thats I will never buy the american version.

If you want, buy the atom and dump in a b16 turbo, upgrade to better suspension, and sell the ecotec, dont waste your time with that ecotec crap.

i thought it sucked ......i realy think that home made shifter kart with th e 1100cc bike engine that cost like only 1500$ to build would compleatly k ick it ass.....
