For those who don't understand: horsepower is a multiplier of torque and RPM; this is the reason why a 140FT/LB torque motor can make 200HP.<br />And yes, the K20Z1 can do this all day long ...

i agree with the guy below me, no regrets you an the guy below you need to go to wyo tech or something read further into the ivtec, as for the "ricers" revving its no different from a domestic lover, they like hearing there car.

actually it's less harmful to take it to 8,400 or 8,500 rpm WITH proper tuning aka hondata than it is if you were to just enter vtec and then shift, once your in vtec its best to take it all the way to 8,500 (with mods and tuning).

exactly. They don't know enough to know that when the reach over the redline it's causing damage to the valves. Also they're losing time when they rev that high. Stock camshafts don't pull all the way to the redline.....get to know your ride.

I cant seem to understand what the point of revving to almost 9000rpm is when the redline is 8000? Im not a honda guy so can someone please exaplain the reasoning behind every ricer honda kid boucning off the rev limiter when they shift?
