Nice car I had a 92 Sunbird V6 5 speed my wife has a Chevrloet Colbalt SS.....Good luck with the car and Fuk the haters...
I like seeing cars like this go fast, I have a friend that has a early 90's Tercel that runs a 14.52. He done a turbo swap. 14.52 isnt fast but in a tercel it is.
"Without any mods to compensate for the increased fuel I'll need"???? You add fuel with the nitrous with a wet kit. And I've changed my fuel maps to help out just in case. In PE mode I already run a 11.2-11.8 afr, plus I'm adding more fuel and oxygen on top of that. You let me worry about the fuel bud. As far as the cost. Yes I've spent enough on this nitrous setup to instead have put on a turbo, but it was more about breaking new ground in my engine model. Not making efficient power. Sounds crazy I know. But, visit www.j-body.org or ecotecforum.com Already tons of guys making 500+ whp on true street cars. I wanted to be different
i suggested the factory sc because you seem to be going for the cheapest way to squeeze hp out of that motor. seems you spend more money on a fancy nitrous gauge than the nitrous and the headers combined. but its cool I'm an idiot because I'm blowing nitrous into my engine without any mods to compensate for the increased fuel ill need. this has nothing to do with respect this has to do with going about getting more hp in the easiest possible way and avoiding most things needed to support it. blowing by people on the track...what exactly do you plan to blow by
Number one, the engine you are referring to is the old Saturn DOHC. The 2.2L (L61) EcoTec has almost nothing to do with that motor. Where are you getting your info. Google is not serving you well my friend. Number 2, almost everything you said in your last post is false about detonation and nitrous. I know, I've bought the books, picked the old V8 guy's brains, and did my homework before I got it. The GM supercharger kit is (a)not available anymore and (b) is only capable of producing 350whp with a ton of cash thrown at it. The turbo is truly the best route, but it is a route often taken. I am on a quest for more power with nitrous that most haven't done with this engine. It's fine you don't respect it. I don't want you to. It makes it funnier when I blow by other cars at the track
"You wouldn't know where to start building a car to be fast"i know enough that by looking at your numbers you are just asking for detonation. 225hp on 75 show will require a high CR and with the flimsy exhaust manifold, no cams and no port work done your might be asking for trouble in an n/a engine because the airflow wont be as smooth
do some research man it was originally developed by opel in a german automaker, the only thing that saab and gm did on it was increase the dispacement from 1.8 to 2.4. this engine has been around since the 70s and only in 2000 has the us gotten their hands on it. sweeden has actually never manufactured this engine the 3 places than make it are New York, Tennessee and Germany. but you know what gm does make is a supercharger kit for it something you probably didn't bother looking into because you would rather have your little temporary bottle, enjoy gettin owned when you run out and look stupid
Funny, I always thought the GM owned Saab company was Sweedish. They developed the Ecotec which is owned by GM. So, yeah fail on your part.
I'm rice because my car came with a factory wing, maybe you should look into the plymouth super bird or the dodge daytona, or is it because its an import, but then wouldn't that make you a ricer too since you dropped a German engineered engine into your car. btw happy Labor Day I'm gonna go get sloshed up
OMG, you're one of those kinda guys now? The "I'm gonna defend those people" guy. Ghey! Keeping using the word rice. You're only ripping on yourself.
