The Story
5 years of cutting, welding, fabricating, painting, painting, and more painting, Emilio and friend Rich Yale had completed what you had seen in the pics. Emilio with his lightning fast shifting of a 5-speed, sent "The Power" to an all-time best ET of 9.71 @ 140.26MPH. No bottle, blower, or turbo here. This was done on the motor and stepping the clutch. Remember we're talking about a 340 smallblock!! It’s an original 1970 Duster 4 speed car (H-code). Boyds steering wheel. Color is Q-code electric blue (3 gallons worth) with purple, yellow, and magenta graphics all under 6 coats of urethane clear. Completely detailed engine compartment, undercarriage, and trunk. Car is all steel with fiberglass bumpers and hood. Everything works including windows, all lights and turn signals. Manual transmission is a GForce 5 speed with clutch stepped everytime. Lakewood steel bell housing and 11 inch adjustable long style clutch with 7lb aluminum flywheel. Shifter is a Long with V-gate and line lock. Mark Williams drive shaft. 4 inch Flowmaster exhaust. Consistent National show winner. Mopar Atlantic Nationals Prostreet 1999, 2000, 2001 and heavy modified 2002, 2003, 2004 champion. The Duster was purchased in 1989 and he'll tell you, "He had the car before he had his wife, and will have the car after his wife. Car was sold within CT in the summer of 2004 and was bought back buy Emilio late that same winter. The temporary new owner could not get the car to go better than 11.20's. After getting the car back home, Emilio just did the usual check up and fluid change and went to Lebanon Valley in the spring of 2005 and clocked a 10.02 off the trailer. Who says drivers don't make a difference.
