Hey Zack,Sorry it took me a little bit to get back to you. A locker is designed to engage when you get into the gas, so that you get power to both rear wheels, and to disengage when you let off. One thing I can tell you about it is... it will take some getting use to. The first thing I did after testing to make sure that it was working properly was to go find a small steep hill and start slow crawling it in 2W/D just to get a feel for how different it is. It will now clime further up hills in 2W/D before having to put it in 4W/D. But (BEWARE!!!) Now that you have power to both rear wheels when they brake loose it will be much harder to control. It will try to pitch you sideways, So you will have to learn to drive it differently especially on Ice, wet pavement or snow. It will hook up better on dry pavement, but I dont know how long it will last if your doing roasters all the time. After I came off the first hill and hit pavement my tires were full of mud, so I went to clean my tires out, as usual, so I punched it with my wheels cranked and I was pointing the other way in about two seconds. Oops! So be careful! I hope that helps. Take it easy out there! Especially if you install a locker! If you have any other questions about it, feel free to ask.Rich.
