Stock suspension drag radial I've been drag racing for 18 years, mostly small tire stock suspension cars. I really enjoy building cars, and to date have put together 5 different cars/trucks. I started with a 87 mazda p/up with a 377 SBC with a fogger it ran 10.11 with a 26x8" slick and stock suspension no traction device. I later minitubbed it with a 30x13.50 et street and cal-trac bar and ran 9.60's @145. After that I had a 90 notchback mustang with a factory stock bottom end aluminum heads and a NOS Big shot plate that ran 6.60's 1/8 mile on a 275 BFG drag radial stock suspension. Sold that to build another mazda p/up with a 400 inch all aluminum sbc with a 98mm Precision turbo, weighed 3480lbs race ready I had just completed this build and rolled it at a local 1/8 mile track but in the little testing I had with it ran 5.80's 1/8th and 9.00 1/4 mile with 18lbs. I sold the parts off of it to finance the build of the 65 mustang fastback. I decided to slow things down since the accident, and built something that was a little more street than race. This car ended up getting on the cover of mustang and fords, it was a 427 Fasttimes built SBF with TFS high ports, hydraulic roller same spec as an E303 but ground on a 114, C&S Blowthrough carb, cal-trac split leaf, 3.27 gear with a C4 race ready 3450lbs on 275 drag radial ran 10.0's @ 132. Later in testing it ran a 6.20 1/8 but never got it to the 1/4, should a been a real 9 second street car on pump gas @ 12-15lbs. Sold it at Barrett to build the 70 Firebird Trans am clone. This car and details are in my profile. But this car is by far my favorite, power steering, power brakes, stock suspension, drag radial 4100lbs and runs 9.50's on pump gas.
